Batch 4 - around SMA 2/12 and 2/13/12

At La Sirena Gorda (The Fat Mermaid, photo of exterior posted earlier), oldest restaurant in SMA, started as a tavern by a woman in 1920.  No women allowed.  Mostly fish.  Ron ate octopus and the rest had tacos.  Good food.

The Buns of San Miguel, much admired by the guys!

Red cockerel painting outside Buena Dia, where breakfasts are fabulous and coffee better than Starbuck's.

Alicia de Hernandez of the Otomi people at the Mercado de Artesanias and a photo of her three-month masterpiece.

More Buns of San Miguel.

The Modern San Miguel Woman on her ATV, best vehicle for SMA.

The kind folks at BajioGo, John and Angie who are a mine of information.  They can get you practically everywhere.

Cleaning the windows.

El restaurante azul.

Visit to La Aurora - terrific place to shop for quality home goods and art of all kinds:

Picture of the woman with red shawl.  Bubble Bath woman.  Girl with braids.

Little boy at the fishpond.

Entrance to La Aurora (for us, the Exit)

More salads at Organica, my favorite place to eat so far.  Sorry, food pictures strictly for Gary to drool over!  Also, little white dog photo for him.  There are so many little white dogs here.

Aah, la musica.  Spontaneous and so cheerful to hear.

The wine drinker.  A beautiful smile which I failed to capture.

Eternal roadwork.  Very difficult here and extremely hard work.

View from the heights - where the rich hangout.  Lots of wealthy homes beautifully maintained.

Finally, the view looking down from R&A's casa with Mike below.
