Batch 5

The Jardin, which is the heart of San Miguel, comes alive at night.  Batch 5 includes photos from various evenings where we wandered into the Jardin to listen to the music and to watch the fun.

Due to problems at our casita, we spent a night at a beautiful bed and breakfast in Atascadero, the CASA PUESTA DEL SOL.  Like so many places here, art work of all kinds delight the eye everywhere you turn.   I cannot resist taking photos of all the art pieces and the beautiful rooms!  The breakfast was simply wonderful, with scrambled eggs and ham, fresh squeezed orange juice, toast and coffee.  All for $70US a night.  High up in Atascadero, it had wonderful views to the town, where La Parroquia de Nuestra Senora de los Dolores parish church dominates the view with its pink spire.

At breakfast, we met a lovely couple from San Luis Potosi, Lenora and Francisco, and I took their photo with Mike.

Back at the Jardin, we find Ron dancing with lovely lady, students dancing and playing music in their period costumes.

The next day, breakfast at Buen Dia (photo of Brad's Scramble, a favorite) and a surprise meeting with Tim and Diana.  We first met Diana on our journey from the airport at Guanajuato and we've bumped into them ever since.

Sunday, and off to the Flea Market.  Lots of photos including one of a big blue and white tent where an ice show was in progress!  You never know what you'll find here.

We walked back home, stopping at the Hotel Atascadero for a rest.  Quite surreal as nobody around, it seemed completely empty.

Back on the road, we met a couple of ATV riders (probably the best way to get around) and found Aurelie's brother-in-law (husband of Aurelie's sister, Alexa, who are now staying with R&A) painting outside La Pueblacita, a beautiful hotel and restaurant.  Gil Dellinger, brilliant artist (see his website) is enjoying painting here.  At the hotel, the Sunday afternoon buffet was in full swing and we plan to go there next Sunday to enjoy the food, the gardens, the music and the wonderful ambience.
